4:00PM

can't say that I blame [info]thysanotus , [info]jezzabe and D coz they didn't actually push me into this new obsession. But they are the reason I'm now playing WoW.

I also have an iPhone. And because WoW = geek = iPhone.....

I tried to put this under a cut but I seem to fail at LJ. (EDIT  - Hey maybe I don't, it just doesn't work in preview).

8:03AM - "Keep your eyes open for a bargain, Car City"

So I found these cars down at a yard at Flemington called "Maribyrnong River Used Car Sales".

"Only one careful owner"
"Those marks will polish right out"
"Probably a Mitsubishi Sigma"

"Definitely a Ford Falcon - 1992 maybe"
"Auto, Air, Power Steering"
"Runs well"

"99% sure it's a Mitsubishi Magna"
"Reliable Family Car"
"Low Kms"

It was all a bit CSI/NCIS really, just without the dead bodies.

3:59PM

Old bike is dead so time for a new bike.

I bought this one - a Scott Sportster P2.

Here are the specifications.

Colour    :   White
Wheels    : Black and Silver, Two, round
Pedals   :   Two
Seat      :   One

There's other stuff about gears and brakes and such but it's all a bit technical.

Unfortunately I'm having to make do with the old motor - badly damaged though it is.

7:17AM - Ctrl-Alt-Del

So do Melbourne trams run MS-Windows I find myself wondering.

The 57 turns into Victoria St, Melbourne and stops. The driver tries what I can only describe as a re-boot! On a tram! The lights go out, the lights flicker on, the ticket machines beep and flash, the tram fails to move. Our driver tries this 3 times before I decide to get out and hoof it.

At least I'm awake now.

8:15AM - The meaning of life.

What do you get when you multiply six by nine?

My age tomorrow. And no, the answer is not 54. Don't be rude.

10:32AM - Resurrection.

Hey.

I've been neglecting my journal what with the move and all but did anybody notice, that's the question.

Anyway [info]meredyth_13 and I are probably going to see The Mess Hall (www.themesshall.com.au or their *gasp* MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/themesshall).

They are playing at the East Brunswick Club, November 5th (yeah it's a Monday night). Tix are a whole $17 on sale Monday although I don't expect them to go that quick.

Anybody interested?

*crickets*

7:05PM

For rapid stacking-your-bike pain relief try Coopers.

6:47PM - Road 1, Me Nil.

Well it was inevitable really wasn't it.

I've been back on the old pushie for a couple of weeks now so obviously it's high time I fell off.

You've all seen it whilst watching the tour de france on telly. Screaming down a series of switch-backs, nothing between you and certain pain but a few square centimeters of rubber. A little bit too fast, a little bit too much lean.

It was almost exactly totally unlike that.

But it was a tiny bit like that.

9:00PM

So, after about a year I've dragged my poor bike (not the Ducati, the other sort of bike, the one where you have to pedal) out of it's dark corner of the garage into the blinding light of day.

It's been cruely stripped of its protective layer of dust and is being forced around the river and creek side tracks by a wheezing master. It's the first time it's been properly used since new. I must've done a whole ten kilometers on the weekend.

One of us is likley to have a terminal event in the very near future.

There you go [info]queeniegalore I've updated my journal.

Also [info]meredyth_13 has set me up an Insane Journal. Apparently I need one of those as well. Go friend me over there.

7:57PM

So time for a real post.

For those of you who may have had doubts (very few I'm sure) this will surely prove my insanity.

I haven't been for a good long solo ride on my Ducati for a few weeks and it's been even longer than that since I rode my favourite bit of twisty black stuff.

I should've remembered the weather we've been having lately. I didn't remember the road being particularly high. There's no steep climbs to get there.

Anyway for those that haven't seen her, here's my bike...

And here's where I went for a ride today.

I considered turning back but hey, I was having too much fun.

I do have to apologise to Mere. I took me a bit longer to get home than I'd anticipated, and I hadn't got around to phoning, so the police were on the verge of trying to triangulate my position (anticipated to be in a ditch by the side of the road) using my mobile phone.
